Steve Rodby – Bass
Another Steve Rodby bass part – as always, he plays all the right notes in the the right order exactly as the piece requires. Minimal extraneous detail but there is some stuff in there that requires concentration. A nice chart to read as it is interesting enough to challenge you without too much trouble, Watch the articulation, though. The length of each note is crucial to the groove and some notes are held whilst others are player staccato. I got as much of the detail in as I could but there is so much subtle stuff in Rodby’s performance that it is impossible to get everything in in a way that allows the chart to remain readable.
This is the complete bass performance on the tune ‘Every Summer Night’ from the 1989 Pat Metheny Group album, ‘Letter From Home.
