Paul Del Harwood – Bass

Paul Del Harwood is one of those unsung heroes of our instrument. His work with Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush is absolute first class Rock bass and it is obvious that he has spent a lot of time listening to players outside of that idiom. There is a freshness about his playing that belies the Heavy Rock cliches of root notes and blues scales and there is a lot more going on here than meets the ear. This is not easy stuff to play authentically but a little time spent with this chart is a little time well spent. This is the opening track to the 1979 ‘Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush – Live’ album, ‘The Answer’. Some great riffs here and sterling work alongside drummer, Jim Ayoub.
