Bass Player: Robin Phillips

Just wrapping up the ‘complete’ set for the 2021 album ‘Sia’ by UK Prog band ‘Solstice’. This is Robin Phillips’s bass part to the tune that closes the CD, ‘Cheyenne 2020’. The tune was originally recorded for their 1984 debut album, ‘Silent Dance’, this version is a reimagining of the song with up-to-date production. Robin’s parts on this track are not difficult but his sound makes a massive contribution to the overall performance. As Miles used to say, ‘Nobody knows what the bass does but you sure miss it when it isn’t there’.
