Guitar Player: Steve Howe
A bit of fun with this one. Steve Howe recorded this tune on his 1979 album, imaginatively entitled, ‘The Steve Howe Album’. It is essentially an unadorned performance of the Second Movement of a Vivaldi Concerto in D Major. It is performed originally on lute but Howe transposed it onto guitar. Bilbo has gone one step further and transposed in for bass guitar. It is a very easy piece to play and is a great little exercise in reading and offers the bass player a chance to play a melody. The tune works perfectly well in either first position or an octave hight (just play the whole chart 8va). For the sake of clarity, we have posted the tune as a guitar chart and as a bass part so you can have a look at it either on treble clef or bass.
