Jeff Berlin – Bass

I have a list of Jeff Berlin tunes I hope to get to and this was one of them. There are some that I will not be attempting as they are too dense in terms of chordal stuff etc but this one ‘felt’ ok so I had a crack at it. There are some very ambiguous phrases (‘is that a triplet or a dotted quaver’/ type of thing) but, having read through this upon completion, I am pretty happy with it. Aside from the head, it is completely unplayable by mere mortals. You can nevertheless spend some time with it and learn some of JB’s phrasing, concepts etc. The tune is Pale Glider from the 2001 album ‘In Harmony’s Way’. One of his prettiest tunes.
