Felix Pastorius – Bass

It takes a certain amount of courage to take up an instrument that your father was responsible for revolutionising but he did and he has made a noise all of his own. This is the Felix Pastorius bass part for the Bob Mintzer tune ‘I Knew His Father’ from the 2013 Yellowjackets album, ‘ A Rise In The Road’. A fairly easy read but it’s a bit quick so watch those odd 8th notes. It does feel like Weather Report, though, doesn’t it?
