Crazy Train – Ozzy Osbourne

Bob Daisley – Bass

My little tribute to the late great Ozzy Osbourne. I saw the Rhoads/Sarzo line-up at Port Vale in 1991 (I was mainly there for Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush’ but remember the gig well. All that aside, this was, for me, THE Ozzy tune that launched his post- Sabbath career. Enough about the man, though. What about Bob Daisley?

Robert John Daisley (born 13 February 1950) is an Australian musician and songwriter. A bassist, he is perhaps best known for his intermittent relationship with vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, for whom he contributed bass, co-production and songwriting throughout the 1980s. Daisley has also worked with prominent rock acts including Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Gary Moore, Chicken Shack and Uriah Heep, among others. In 2013, he published his autobiography entitled For Facts Sake which has received outstanding reviews. Bit of a legend himself.

The tune ‘Crazy Train’ was featured on the 1980 Ozzy Osbourne album, ‘Blizzard OF Oz’. Pretty easy to play but that’s not why we are here today.

Rest In Peace, you lunatic.
