Anthony Jackson – Contrabass Guitar

This one came up on my mp3 player which was on shuffle (it always is) and I thought it was relatively easy to get down on virtual paper so here we are.

This is the complete Anthony Jackson part for the tune ‘Fantasy’ from the 2012 Hiromi Uehara Trio Project album, ‘Move’. I think you might struggle to play the upper melody on a five string so you may need a sixer to pull it off but, if you only have a fiver, you can play the high notes an octave down without any really difficulty and it will sound ok (okaying it that high and with the volume pedal swells is inspired, though). It’s a very pretty piece.
