Que Vale La Pena – Albino Cubana

Bass Player: Rob Palmer (Bilbo)

During the late Noughties, Bilbo was a member of an Ipswich (UK) based Latin band called ‘Albino Cubana’. The band was a seveb piece outfit that included Bilbo on bass, Michel Cereso (vocs and flute), Phil Grave (kyb), the late Gene Perry (g), Paul Sheppard (trom), John Jermy (tr), Jon Halls (perc) and George Fothergil (dr). The band made one cd, ‘Dime Tuy’ which includes the track transcribed below. This is the band’s arrangement of the Juan Luis Guerra tune ‘Que Vale La Pena’ and offers another opportunity to practice reading a Latin groove. Lots of repetition in this one so not too difficult once you ‘get it’.
