Bass Player: Dick Nolan
When It Bites hit in 1986, they caused something of a stir with their Prog/Rock/Pop hybrid and the album ‘The Big Lad In The Windmill’ features strong compositions and strong playing from all four band members including guitarist Francis Dunnery, with his Allan Holdsworthesque lines and expressive vocals, and keyboard monster, the dreadlocked John Beck. The rhythm section for the band consisted of Bob Dalton on drums and Dick Nolan on bass. They were known as an incredibly tight band and they caught the ear and imagination of a generation of musicians and remain highly regarded to this day (the band still exists albeit without Nolan and Dunnery. The tune transcribed here is unquestionably one of the easiest off the album and arguably one of the easiest reads on the webiste. With the exception of about four bars, the chart is mostly one note per bar and it is included here merely as encouragement for new readers who want to try their hand at a ‘real’ chart. The tune is called ‘You’ll Never Go To Heaven’ and comes in at less that 60 bpm.
