Stefano Cerri – Bass

I know nothing about this guy beyond his contribution to the 1982 Jon Anderson album ‘Animation’. He is an Italian bass player and highly though of but most of the biographical information on line is in Italian so I am afraid that I will have to leave it there. To be blunt, I can’t even say it IS Cerri on this track but it doesn’t sound like the other two bassists who are referenced on the LP cover, John Giblin and Jack Bruce.

This is the bass part for the tune ‘Unlearning (The Dividing Line)’. It is an odd read and features popping (something I don’t normally do) so notes with the p over them are popped. Some interesting atonal slides and chord work that are a challenge to read but the effect is easy enough to achieve
