Andy West – Bass

You can’t get enough of Andy West. A genuine pioneer of extended range basses who was thinking outside of that particular bass before most of us even knew that there was such a thing. What is less well known is that West was also capable of composing tunes himself. This transcription of the Andy West bass part of the tune ‘Travel Tunes’ from the 1978 Dixie Dregs LP, ‘What If’. The album opens with the legendary ‘Take It Off The Top’ tune, the theme to the UK’s Friday Rock Show but the whole album is chock full of monster chops from all 5 members of the band.
