In the provinces in the UK at this time, before the internet and Spotify (and, indeed, Amazon) getting to hear these obscure artists was nigh on impossible and it was a feat to locate recordings of most of the US artists discussed in these magazines. But find it he did and so began a life-long love of Anthony Jackson’s playing.
