Bass Player: Jeff Andrews

A highly underrated player, Jeff Andrews has performed with many of the greatest Jazz, Jazz-Rock and Fusion artists of his generation including Mike Stern, Michael Brecker and Steve Smith’s Vital Information. His soloing is comparable to many of the greatest legends of the instrument but his groove playing is second to none. This is a tune he recorded with Mike Stern for the guitarist’s 1996 album, ‘Between The Lines’. The piece is called ‘The Vine’ and featues some rooted quarter notes and some tight funk. An interesting read. Key signature says F Major but the piece is essentially grounded around G Dorian.
