Street Rhyme – Mike Stern

Will Lee – Bass

Will Lee was the first call electric bass player for most of the music business in the 1990s and his CV is arguably one of the most comprehensive in modern bass history. Alongside the jingles and tv work, Lee has found his way onto a plethora of recording be everyone from Donald Fagan (‘The Nightfly’) to Pat Metheny, Gary Burton, Bob Mintzer, Gary Burton and guitarist Mike Stern. This is Lee’s part for the Stern tune ‘Street Rhyme’ from Stern’s 2004 CD ‘These Times’. It is not entirely complete and the final choruses are not transcribed in detail but there is enough here for you to find your way. Stern has done some great writing over his career and some of his stuff is VERY tricky but this tune is not overly taxing and there is a lot of repetition so you have a chance of nailing it quite quickly.
