Bass Player: John Giblin
Jon Anderson is primarily known for his work with the Progressive Rock band Yes but his solo albums are goldmines of greaet composing and arranging. The title tune of his 1980 album ‘Song Of Seven’ features all of the trademark features of his best work; great writing, rich vocal harmonies inscrutible lyrics etc. Ironicallym the song is not in seven: it is mostly in 3:4 with odd passages in four and a bar of 2:4 here and there and a massive chunk of 6:8. The bass player is John Giblin who has worked with everyone including Simple Minds, Brand X, Kate Bush, Chris De Burgh and John Martyn.
The transcription is quite challenging but only in so far as it requires the reading to change the count every so often. It is transcribed in C but is changing jey throughout so watch for those accidentals.
