Dave Holland – Bass

Something from the 2001 Quintet album, ‘Not For Nothin”, another one of those Holland charts that alternates between two time signatures throughout the whole composition (in this case 4:4 and 5:4). There is one bar (bar 38) that I am hearing as 7 beats over 5 but I cannot make Sibelius do that so I have had to work around it. This a complete performance that include the rhythm section part and the full bass solo. I am pretty sure I have got it all but, as I always say, this is only every my interpretation of what I am hearing. Even with the technology, it is pretty much my ears that are the weak link in the chain so, if you disagree, disagree with confidence!

It is mostly playable but there is a four bar section in the solo that is going to hurt!

It is worth saying that I have been talking to a colleague from one of the Bass Transcribers Facebook groups, Carl Barnett, who has been helping me in my efforts to tighten up my transcriptions so I have applied some of his recommendations to this chart and hope it is more user friendly as a result.
