Anthony Jackson – Contrabasse Guitar

AJ – he’s the man! Totally original, totally inspired and totally awesome. I have only come the Hiromi Trio Project recently. As an out and out jazzer, I find some of Hiromi’s stuff a but twee, more Prog-Rock than Jazz, but some of it is undoubtedly brilliant and I have had a word with myself recently about missing the point where Art is concerned. You cannot judge a piece of work by what it isn’t or doesn’t achieve. You have to judge things on their own merit and some of these tunes are great.
