Bass Player: Anthony Jackson
Al Di Meola’s 1982 album, ‘Electric Rendezvous’ was voted No. 3 in the Billboard Jazz album chart of the same year but is not one of the guitarists more successful albums and is only really ever mentioned as the album that introduced Di Meola and Paco De Lucia’s ‘hit single’ ‘Passion, Grace and Fire’. The rest of the album is traditional Di Meola fare but not as compositionally strong as other albums from this era such as ‘Elegant Gyosy’ (1977) and ‘Casino’ (1978) (full album transcription featured elsewhere on this site). The album does have it’s moments, however, and this is the complete Anthony Jackson bass part for the bossa/samba tune ‘Ritmo De La Noche’ (‘Rhythm Of The Night’).
