Percy Jones – Bass

Those were the days! A funky thing in 11:8 written by drummer Narada Michael Walden (Mahavishnu Orchestra) – there are a couple of 4:4 bars and a 9:8 just to screw with your head. A tip for reading this; count 1234 and then, double time, 123. 1-2-3-4-123, 1-2-3-4-123. Absolutely impossible to read first time through but one you get the idea, it is the same two bars repeated ’round and ’round. No Percy Jones lunacy, it’s pretty much rooted throughout. Watch the keyboard solo part, though. That’s a touch more demanding but funky as you can get in 11:8. There is a little ending that has no bass in it so I have not written that out. It is tagged on like a post-credits scene in a Marvel movie so you could easily miss it!
