Bass Player: Jack Bruce

An early influence for Bilbo, the performances of Jack Bruce in the 1979 Cozy Powell album ‘Over The Top’ featured his Aria SB1000 bass before he moved over to Warwicks. Bilbo bought an Aria SB600 on the strength of it (his budget didn’t run to the 1000). You can’t get much more over the top that Powell performing Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture with cannons! The transcription is the first half of the tune and finishes at the drum solo as there is no bass gutiar in the 1812 orchestral bit. There is a strange tension between three against two figures and syncopated sixteenths but, with a few run throughs, you will get the gist.
