Bass Player: Dave Holland

From the 1990 album ‘Question And ANswer’, featuring guitarist Pat Metheny in trio with Dave Holland (b) and Roy Haynes (d), this is a transcription of Dave Holland’s bass solo on the balled ‘Old Folks’. Watch the phrasing on this one as there are a couple of passages where it sounds like Holland is playing triplet crotchets across bar lines which old versions of Sibelius don’t like at all. One chorus long, the chart features the chords to help you make sense of the solo. There are parts that are reasonably easy to read but there are passages where things get complicated with phrases across bar lines etc.
