Jack Bruce – Bass

Jack Bruce’s first solo album, ‘Songs For A Tailor’ has some classic songs which have really stood the test of time; ‘Theme From An Imaginary Western’ and ‘Rope Ladder To The Moon’ but there is lost of other material on there that is still worth spending some time with. This is the opening tune from the album, ‘Never Tell Your Mother She Is Out Of Tune’. The recording is a little dated and sounds like to was done on a really low budget but its a fun twelve bar/funk thing which is great to play. I was reminded of this album by the recent Jeff Berlin album ‘Jack Songs’ which I only recently heard for the first time (now THAT is an odd album).
