Bass Player: Mark Egan

Mark Egan learned his craft at the feet of Jaco Pastorius and first found international renown as part of the original line-up of the Pat Metheny Group. He has also performed as part of the band Elements and has recorded his own albums as leader. Other notable appearances have included Mark Murphy, Walter Bishop Jr, Jim Hall, Bill Evans, Michael Franks, Dave Liedman and Sting. Egan spent some time touring and recording with percussionist Airto Moreira and singer Flora Purim and the transcription attached is his bass part for the tune ‘Misturada’ from the Moreira/Purim album, ‘Three-Way Mirror’. A nice Latin groove in 7:8 its not as hard as it sounds!
