Dave Holland – Bass
One of my all time favourite albums. I originally had this on a commercial cassette. I recall it being weird because the second side of the cassette was about 15 minutes shorter than the first which mean that, when you finished listening to the album, you had to fast forward for ages before you could listen to it again. I later got it on CD and then as a download – I have bought the album three times since it was released in 1993.
The album is called ‘So Near, So Far: Musings For Miles’ by Joe Henderson and features the sax player with Holland, guitarist John Scofield and drummer Al Foster. I know this album like the back of my hand and love every second of it. This is the complete Dave Holland bass part for the opening tune ‘Miles Ahead’. It is just perfect.
