Bass Player: Paul Martinez
Paul Frank Martinez is a British session bass player best known for his work with Robert Plant, Cat Stevens, Dave Edmunds, George Harrison, Maggie Bell, Peter Gabriel, Chicken Shack and The Adverts amoung many others.
On 13 July 1985, when Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones reunited for the Live Aid concert at JFK Stadium, Philadelphia, Martinez played bass alongside drummers Tony THonmpson and Phil Collins.
Martinez played bass guitar on the only album released by Deep Purple spin-off, Paice, AShton and Lord. The album features some monster grooves (to be expected with Ian Oaice in the drum chair) but Martinez anchors the rock/funk hybrid admirably. This is the bass part for the title track of the 1977 PAL album, Malice In Wonderland.
