Bass Player: Dave Pegg
Dave Pegg (born 2 November 1947) is an English multi-instrumentalist and record producer although he is known primarily as a bass guitarist. He is the longest-serving member of the UK folk institution, Fairport Convention but has been bassist with a number of other Folk and Rock groups including Jethro Tull and has performed with Richard Thompson, John Martyn, Sandy Denny and a host of others.
The transcription is Peggy’s solo piece ‘Level Pegging’ from his 1983 debut solo album, ‘The Cocktail Cowboy Goes It Alone’. The tune is listed as ‘traditional’ so no-one knows who the composer is. The recording has two basses playing harmonies so it is presented here as a two stave score. Some trick sections with four over three passages interspersed with triplets but it is not impossible to play.
