Bass Player: Steve Swallow
Another transcription from Swallow’s ‘Real Book’ CD. This is the opening solo on the track ‘Let’s Eat’. Swallow is unusual in Jazz and his use of the pick makes his playing very guitaristic with lots of ghost notes. His mastery of melodic playing is well-established and his ability to weave beautiful lines around the harmonic progressions he chooses is legendary. Many of his compositions are contrafacts, new melodies written over the changes to established Jazz standards.
Another tune that is not available on YouTube unless you pay for their Music Premium Service but, as you bought the CD for the ‘Wrong Tgether’ chart, you already have it, don’t you?
