Bass Player: Dick Nolan
Dick Nolan is primarily known for his work with UK neo-Prog band It Bites who had a massive impact on the scene in the late 1980s with their three albums, ‘The Big Lad In The Windmill’ (1986), ‘Once Around The World’ (1988) and ‘Eat Me In St Louis’ (1989). The band broke up at this point and reformed for the ‘Tall Ships’ album in 2008 but without Nolan in the bass chair. Nolan has since worked with Ray Davies of The Kinks fame and has been linked with other artists including Genesis keyboard player, Tony Banks.
This is a complete transcription of the opening track from the first It BItes album, ‘ ‘The Big Lad In The Windmill’ and is called ‘I’ve Got You Eating Out Of My Hand’. The tune does some really creative things with time and often sounds like to it flipping the pulse but, if you study the chart, you will get a sense of why things sound and feel the way they do.
