Ruben Rodriguez – Bass

I love Latin bass – everyone knows me as a Jazz Nazi but I would drop it all if I could play Latin music instead (Cuban, Puerto-Rican, Brazilian – the whole shebang) but Suffolk is not know for it’s percussionists and there is not really anyone within easy reach who is interested (or capable) so I have to live this particular dream vicariously through the music I listen to. This is another Ruben Rodriguez part, a complete transcription of the tune ‘Go Home (Vete A Casa)’ from the 2017 Steve Khan album, ‘Backlog’. A bit more demanding that the ‘Nature Boy’ transcription I posted yesterday but still playable by most of us. The reading is not overly tricky so it’s worth a go.
