Bass Player: John Giblin
While best known as a London studio musician, recording film scores and contemporary music, Giblin has also performed live, and recorded with Peter Gabriel, John Martyn, Elkie Brooks, Annie Lennox, Phil Collins, pop-rock group Simple Minds and has been closely associated with artists, ranging from Kate Bush, David Sylvian, and Jon Anderson to Jazz Rock legends Brand X, a gig he shared with Percy Jones. Their bass duet ‘Wal To Wal’ from the ‘Product’ album was a defining moment for the bass fraternity at that point.
In recent times Giblin has moved further in the direction of acoustic bass, and current projects include among the musicians, drummer Peter Erslkine and pianist Alan Pasqua.
The transcription features John’s bass solo on the track ‘Everybody Loves You’ from Jon Anderson’s 1980 album, ‘Song Of Seven’. The solo starts at the 3:03 mark.
