Rob Palmer – Bass
Something a bit different today. I was playing through a transcription the other day (not one of mine) and recognised that I was not ‘hearing’ triplets naturally when the third of the three notes was not played within the line. So, in the spirit of 400 years of music tradition, I wrote a little Etude (definition: a short musical composition, typically for one instrument, designed as an exercise to improve the technique or demonstrate the skill of the player) around that particular group of notes so I would have something to practice in an effort to internalise that particular sound. I called it ‘Interrupted triplets’ because that was how I was hearing it. I thought I would post it in case someone else has the same problem! Sorry, no video/recording as I don’t have the means to do that available at the present time.
