Bass Player: Dave Holland

Wolverhampton born Holland has had the kind of career we all dream about and has performed with everyone from Miles Davis, Hank Jones, Chick Corea, Anthony Braxton, Pat Metheny, Kenny Wheeler and a myriad of other legendary players the world over. His own recordings are pretty much essential listening and feature quality playing across the board. This tune is from the Dave Holland Quintet album ‘Prime Directive’ (1999) but the performance features a simple trio of Holland, trombonist Robin Eubanks and drummer Billy Kilson. It’s a relatively simple tune with a lovely hook and the transcription features the bass part for whole tune including the solo.
