Bass Player: Joe Dart

Bilbo noticed that a significant number of these transcriptions dated back to the 1970s and early 1980s. In an effort to bring things at least a little up to date, he thought he would see what was out there getting noticed that didn’t involve slapping or tapping (Bibo is not inclined to explore these techniques when advicating for reading because they require a different approach that is hard to articulate on the written page – for the record; he can do it, he just chooses not to).

First heard in 2016, this is a transcription of the infamous ‘Dean Town’ from the 2016 Vulfpeck album, ‘Thrill Of The Arts’ featuring bassist Joe Dart. There are other transcriptions on line which present the parts as sixteenth notes but Bilbo has chosen to transcribe it as eighth notes which makes it easier to read.
