Bass Player: Gary Brown

Gary Brown is a versatile bass player who has recorded with many high profile jazz and rock artists ranging from Lou Rawls and Airto Moreira to Jimmy Dillon and Steve Winwood. He has been a member of Flora Purim’s group since the early ’90s, and is also active in soundtrack work.

The album ‘Flora Purim Sings Milton Nascimento’ is dedicated entirely to the work of Purim’s fellow countryman and features Brown on the Nascimento tune ‘Cravo E Canela’. A simple little line with a simple groove and relatively easy to read. N.B. This one needs a five-string.
