Bass Player : Jeff Andrews

Another great Mike Stern tune and another great Jeff Andrews performance, this is the bass part for the tune ‘Chromazone’ from the 1988 Stern album, ‘Time In Place’. A monster bass part, heavily syncopated but mostly written (there are a couple of fills). Jeff Andrews was a major player in his day, performing with Steve Smith’s Vital Information, Special EFX, Michael Brecker, Steps Ahead, Bob Mintzer’s Big Band, Wayne Shorter and, of course, Mike Stern. Andrews passed away in 2019, a considerable loss to the bass community.
