Chasin’ The Voodoo – Al DiMeola

Bass Player: Anthony Jackson

Bilbo first came across this track as one of the pieces of music that Tommy Vance used to use on his Friday Rock Show, long before Bilbo started getting into Jazz and Fusion music. BIlbo was a Heavy Rock fan orginally and did actually record a session for FRS in 1981 but it was listening to these link tracks that got him thinking about what else was out there (Vance used tracks by The Dixie Dregs, Mahavishnu Orchestra and Stanley Clarke as well as with Al DiMeola).

This a full transcription of Anthony Jackson’s bass part for ‘Chasin’ The Voodoo’ from the 1978 Al DiMeola album ‘Casino’. The tune was written by percussionist Mingo Lewis.
