Bass Player: Jeff Berlin

The tune ‘Bach’ off Jeff Berlin’s 1986 album ‘Pump It’ is based around Bach’s Two Part Invention in C Minor from The Well Tempered Clavier. The core Bach composition is rearranged to give Jeff space to solo of Bach’s changes. The piece is challenging and it is recommended that players spend some time working out the best fingerings in order to allow for a smooth performance. Some of the lines require the use of the whole neck and moving positions on the fly is going to be problematic but, as with all things, they are all perfectly playable with practice (as the nine years old YouTubers in Korea have shown us over recent years).
