Bass Player: John Giblin

Another Brand X chart this one ‘And So To F’ from the 1979 album ‘Product’. It is a littel frustrating trying to trancribe Brand X charts as so much of Percy Jones’s bass playing is incredibly eclectic and unconventional. Fortunately, Giblin’s work is more conventional and his lines are a lot easer to piece together. ‘And So To F’ is a Phil Collins composition (he played it on his own solo tours) and is based around two riffs, one in 9:8, the other is straight 4:4. Tough to read ‘cold’ but, once you get the riffs under your fingers, it comes together quite easily.
