Bass Player: Jeff Berlin

‘Age Of Information’ was the opening track from the third Bruford album ‘Gradually Going Tornado’. When these LPs came out in the late 70s and early 80s, the playing of Jeff Berlin was a breath of fresh air and he and his contemporaries, Jaco Pastorius and Stanley Clarke, were redefining what bass playing was about and sending the bass playing fraternity back to the woodshed. Having been unable to access Transcribe software or anything similar when he was starting to get into Jazz and Fusion bass playing, transcribing these lines back then was all but impossible but Bilbo has, over recent months, transcribed the whole of this album (and most of ‘Feels Good To Me’ and ‘One Of A Kind’) as a labour of love. This chart is one of the easier one from the album and features Jeff on vocals.
