Gary Willis – Bass

A sombre piece from the 1999 Tribal Tech album, this is the title track ‘Thick’. It is essentially a two bar part that repeats through most of the performance but it got a bit dense so I pulled out. Whilst I only got about 3 minutes in, you can see how Willis builds the tension in his parts and he carries on doing so for another 8 minutes (the tune is over 11 minutes long). Sorry – I just couldn’t stomach another three or four hours of the same two bars over and over again!!). Also, the bass is heavily processed so can get a bit muddy.
