Joe Dart – Bass

I have not been seeing much of these guys as they just don’t feature in my listening but this one appeared on one of my feeds and I thought it was a great, funky line, familiar but with enough to keep it interesting. I love what Dart does from bar 125 onwards; he just takes it up a notch as the tune reaches its climax. Nothing new in here but some great groove playing as we have come to expect from the likes of Vulfpeck, Snarky Puppy, Cory Wong and the whole ‘movement’ (is is a movement?).

The tune is ‘1612’ which has appeared on several of their recordings. I think this one is off the ‘Fugue State’ EP that came out in 2014 but I may be wrong.
